Succumbing to The Other Side... (of the lens)

So Alex and I were reviewing the website, this blog, the social networking sites, and we realised that - despite showcasing some photography that we are really pleased with - we still didn't come across as... us. We believe that part of the duty of being a wedding photographer is to be approachable and welcoming. The last thing you want on such a special (and strategically-planned) day is for a looming character to either lurk uncomfortably around your loved ones or barge in uninvited! Many of our couples really appreciate being able to comfortably request specific shots without worrying about our reaction.
Also, it's a lot easier for clients to ease up in front of the camera when they know the people behind it can fully sympathise with your terror!! To put faces to the names, and let a bit of our... erm, unique characters shine, we had a little fun in the studio last week. Here is the result, please don't judge us! We know we look mental!

Release The Kraken!!!

Searching the internet this evening, I stumbled upon a rather interesting graph... I wonder if Holly would allow this at our wedding?!...

Perks of the Job

In providing Staffordshire-based holistic therapist Helen Evans with some promotional shots, I was generously treated to a hot-stone massage. If you have never experienced one of these beauties, I suggest you find the most relevant excuse for a treat and book yourself in for one immediately! Just make sure you don't have to operate any heavy machinery afterwards -it takes a while for your feet to get back on solid ground...

Sentimental Value

In the setting of the beautiful Brecon Beacons where Holly and I got engaged, we saw the making of the Goodridges - a delightfully alternative wedding for a couple full of character. The venue (The Barn at Brynich) did at wonderful job of catering to every possible need and ensured that the day ran without a single glitch, providing the happy couple with the perfect day they truly deserved. An occasion we were honoured to be a part of!

Mr and Mrs Smith

After meeting the charming Danielle at her lovely dress shop in Walsall, Bridal Boutique, we found our styles were a great match. I was fortunate enough to be able to shoot her wedding in Solihull, where she happily tied the knot with Liam. In what was a particularly wet week, the rain miraculously held out on this beautiful day (though we did keep our wellies close at all times!)
